CONGRATS

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish and Finneas are not just two-time Oscar winners, but Oscar record-breakers.

Their song "What Was I Made For?" from "Barbie" picked up the trophy for Best Original Song, making 22-year-old Eilish and her 26-year-old brother Finneas the youngest — and second-youngest, respectively — to win two Oscars.

The sibling duo also won for Best Original Song in 2022 for "No Time to Die" from the James Bond film of the same name. The record was previously set in 1938 by Luise Rainer, then 28, who won her second Best Actress trophy.

"I had a nightmare about this last night," Eilish quipped as she took the stage. "I just didn't think this would happen. I was not expecting this."

Calling herself "incredibly lucky and honored," Eilish went on to thank "Barbie" director Greta Gerwig before dedicating her win to "everyone who was affected by the movie and how incredible it is."

I'm Just Ken

Sublime!

Ryan Gosling completely stole the show at the 2024 Oscars with his electrifying sing-along of his Barbie anthem "I'm Just Ken" — nominated for Best Original Song. Fellow Ken actors Simu Liu, Ncuti Gatwa, Scott Evans, and Kingsley Ben-Adir hit the Dolby Theatre stage in Los Angeles for the first live performance of the song — as did Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash and Wolfgang Van Halen, both of whom just so happen to be featured on the track.

On the red carpet ahead of the performance, producer and songwriter Mark Ronson (who also joined Gosling on stage) teased that it would be an "absolutely bananas spectacle. We're only ever gonna get to to perform this song maybe once with Ryan," he said.

He wasn’t kidding. The KENERGY was off the scale. It was AWESOME!

Kenergy suit

Exactly what did it take to bring the KENERGY?

It started with celebrity stylist Mark Avery and Gucci. For nearly a decade, Gosling has worked with Avery, who was also his costumer on Barbie. Just ahead of the Oscars, Avery told the publication Wide Open Country that working with Gucci on custom looks for the actor has been a “dream come true.”

For the “I’m Just Ken” performance, the styling included a mix of Gucci, Tag Heuer and of course Stetson. Gucci also provided custom pink gloves to match.
The black Stetson was custom created in same style as the white one worn in the movie. Ryan handed it off early to his sister Mandi who sat next to him and was his Oscars guest. BTW: Ryan’s custom single-breasted black suit was also Gucci, and featured metallic beaded hand-embroidered trim, paired with a black Gucci shirt with silver piping.

Other Accessories:
Tag Heuer Carrera Plasma Diamant Wristwatch. This limited edition wristwatch featured 18k white gold, and is set with 124 clear diamonds, including a solid diamond winding crown. Tag Heuer

Dita Eyewear - black sunglasses.

SUBLIME!

Barbie Honors

Shania Twain, Kylie Minogue and Helen Mirren are among eight women that have been honoured with their own Barbie dolls for International Women’s Day.

The “global storytellers” have been chosen by Mattel to have Barbie dolls modelled after their likeness to kick off the brand’s 65th anniversary celebrations.

The toymaker said that Minogue’s “glittering career has kept her firmly rooted in the present whilst defining and celebrating much of our collective past”, while praising Twain for being one of the “renowned trailblazers breaking down barriers for women in country music”.

Minogue’s Barbie is fashioned after her all-red outfit in the music video for her mega hit ‘Padam Padam‘, while Twain’s recreates the outfit and top hat from her ‘Man I Feel Like A Woman’ music video – completed by the long pink hair from her ‘Queen Of Me’ tour.

Other women honoured include Oscar-winning actor and producer Viola Davis, content creator Maira Gomez from the indigenous community of the Tatuyo ethnic group in Amazonas, Mexican director, producer and screenwriter Lila Avilés, Japanese model Nicole Fujita and German comedian Enissa Amani.

Barbie Book

They were the looks seen round the world: Margot Robbie in a mini black-and-white Hervé Léger bandage dress, cat-eye sunglasses across her face; Robbie in a fuchsia pencil skirt and matching blazer, a crystal-bedecked Judith Leiber cell-phone clutch in tow; Robbie wearing a ruffle-hem Emilio Pucci dress, long crimped hair cascading down her back. Each look, styled by Andrew Mukamal for the Barbie press tour, defined modern method dressing. Now the internet-breaking fashions are being immortalized in Barbie: The World Tour, a coffee-table book by Mukamal and Robbie, out March 19 from Rizzoli.

In it Mukamal and Robbie share a visual feast of vintage dolls, handwritten designer notes, and never-before-seen looks that were designed for the film and the ensuing press tour.

That’s right. In case you missed it, for every Press appearance, Robbie was styled in original couture inspired by the original fashion created for Barbie: Hervé Legér, Givenchy, Carolina Herrera, Miu Miu, Prada and more. This book captures all the details that went into recreating the designs and delivers it in a gorgeously photographed fashion forward coffee table book.

The book released Friday, March 8 for pre-order on Amazon and other major book retailers, to deliver March 20. Pre-order it NOW!

It’s definitely Miley Cyrus’ year. The signer, songwriter won her first Grammys last month for her smash-hit Flowers and she’s just scored a major fashion deal with Dolce & Gabbana.
